Queer Asian nightlife is returning to the city of West Hollywood with Switch, a new dance party event coming to Micky’s WeHo, located at 8857 Santa Monica Boulevard. Continuing the recent success of RIZE SF in the San Francisco Bay Area, event producer QT Nightlife is eyeing Southern California for a new Queer and Asian space during LA Pride weekend, on Saturday, June 11th.
West Hollywood has been lacking a dedicated club geared towards Queer and Asian community since gay Asian night GAMEBOI ended after a 17‐year run due to the closure of Rage Bar & Nightclub in 2020. VJ Jason Lin, a former resident DJ of GAMEBOI, connected with Danny Pham, Founder of QT Nightlife, to negotiate the soft opening of Switch at Micky’s during LA Pride weekend.
“We at Micky’s are overjoyed to partner with the QT Nightlife team to host Switch as the much anticipated return of a vibrant Queer & Asian nightlife to West Hollywood.” says Tony Velovski, a Manager at Micky’s.
“With the community’s support, the success of this soft opening night will assure Switch’s returns as a monthly event,” added Danny Pham, Founder of QT Nightlife.
The night will feature VJ Jason Lin and VJ Vu Tran tag-teaming a mix of Top 40, Dance, EDM, and K‐Pop music videos. The upstairs lounge will have Tune In Tokyo music collective with VJ Greg Hignight mixing global Asian dance and pop music. There will also be special guest appearances and performances.
